The Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI) is Corner Brook's hub of creativity and entrepreneurship, applied research, community engagement, and learning, where energy, ideas, and technology collide. Our goal is to reinvigorate our region by fostering a culture of innovation. We are home to Corner Brook’s Makerspace, Navigate’s Incubator program, and accessible co-working spaces.

Innovation Centre

  • The CRI Makerspace provides access to a wide range of tools and resources for community members to bring their ideas to life. It includes two distinct areas. The first floor features various wood- and metal-working tools, including a CNC Router, and a CNC Plasma Cutter. The second floor houses the Digital TC2 Loom, a Laser Cutter, a Vinyl Cutter, and several 3D printers, among other equipment.  

    We invite you to come in and engage with our cutting-edge tools and resources. Its open approach fosters creativity and collaboration across diverse disciplines, encouraging innovation and learning within a supportive environment. 

  • The Navigate Small Business Incubator supports local entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life through personalized programs, one-to-one coaching, along with community events designed to help entrepreneurs succeed!

  • The CRI’s Co-Working Space is free and open to the public Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Anyone can come and use our open-seating area and connect to Wi-Fi. We have a sound-proof booth for you to use in case you need to take a phone call. Coffee and tea are always on!
